State Theatre

The breathtaking State Theatre is one of the most beautiful venues in Sydney. Highly regarded for its exquisite architecture and place in the history of Australian performing arts, The State Theatre is truly a place of magic. Opened in 1929 the venue’s architecture is an eclectic mix of gothic, Italian and art deco design. The theatre was heralded as a place of fantasy, where dreams became reality, and it wasn’t long before it was marked as a major attraction, embedding itself into the memories of all those who attended the shows within.

The interiors of the venue bring to mind Renaissance palaces, featuring art from some of the countries’ greatest painters such as William Dobell and Charles Wheeler, the theatre is a centre of culture and elegance. The State Theatre is an exquisite venue for hosting an event and its unapologetically classic design provides guests with a taste of magic.

Located in the main venue area the Koh-I-Nor cut crystal chandelier is the main centerpiece of the room. As the second largest Chandelier in the world, weighing over four tones it’s sure to be the centre of conversation and delight. When the theatre was opened it was given the moniker “The Palace of Dreams”. Forte will ensure the dream of the perfect event takes place in this delightful venue.
