Downer EDI Christmas | Forte Catering

As the sun set over the weekend, Downer EDI celebrated with a Tropical themed Christmas Extravaganza at the unique venue of the Australian Museum!
Forte Catering & Events was right amongst the action not only creating a Tropical themed menu for the 500 guests but also complemented the theme with a bamboo cocktail bar, underwater and beach theming as well as traditional Tahitian performances for the night.
As guests entered the venue, they were adorned with Hawaiian lei’s and tropical fruit cocktails, which were served in coconut cups, were the taste on everyone’s tongue! The Museum’s College street foyer was transformed into a tropical beach scene with tiki huts and surfboard, whilst staff served scrumptious canapés including a duck and banana flower salad with cashews and lychee juice dressing. Guests were ushered through to an underwater themed Atrium with large sea animals and water feature lighting to set the theme.
One of the many highlights of the night was the traditional Tahitian entertainment, Oceania Pacifica. Guests were greeted by ladies in traditional costume, serenaded by the lads playing ukulele’s and to top it all off, a performance of traditional Tahitian dances where guests were encouraged to have fun and participate!
The event was a huge success for all involved. We would like to thank Downer EDI for their support as a preferred caterer and wish everyone a safe holiday break and a prosperous 2010.
